A leading sauce producer in Chile needed a faster, more efficient way to mix powders. Within just two weeks, they were convinced that Alfa Laval’s HPM15 Hybrid Powder Mixer was the right solution.
How? They tested it live at the Application & Innovation Center in Denmark without even leaving Chile. The remote trial delivered instant clarity: the hybrid mixer handled the job with ease.

A full trial completed in just two weeks
The requirements from the sauce producer were very clear. The new mixer had to disperse all powder ingredients in under 30 minutes to cut production time.
In close consultation with their local system builder, they decided to put Alfa Laval HPM15 to the test before their final decision.
“We love it when customers come to us with a clear requirement”, says Jens Åge Larsen from the Alfa Laval Application & Innovation Center in Kolding, Denmark.
“In less than two weeks, we prepared the trial, sourced all ingredients that would be too expensive to ship from Chile and carried out the trial.”
Participating in trial live from Chile
The customer attended the trial remotely via live stream, following every step of the process to validate performance.
The trial included two different recipes, each producing 400 kg of final product – about 25% of their own production capacity – making the trial significant enough to confirm their expectations to the mixer.
“The trial was a success. The customer could check the speed of the process and the quality of the product in real time. Also, during and after the test, we had a good dialogue about the process, the setup and equipment, addressing all remaining questions”, says Jens Åge Larsen.
“Now that the bottleneck of powder dispersion is solved, the customer can move on to finalize the design of the future preparation line”.
