Increasing efficiency and uptime is critical for fertilizers manufacturers today. Alfa Laval can help cut energy costs, reduce problems with fouling and corrosion and recover waste heat for reuse in the other plant processes.

With space-saving designs, Alfa Laval’s broad range of heat exchangers significantly cut capital expenditures compared to conventional units. Plus substantial energy savings can be realized due to the counter-current flow of our heat exchangers, enabling a temperature difference of just 2°C between the hot and cold liquids.

Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchangers combines the capability to withstand high pressures and high temperatures with the benefits of compact heat exchangers making them ideal for heat recovery or interchanger positions under demanding conditions.

Alfa Laval self-cleaning high-speed separators effectively handle fouling media, thereby increasing productivity and uptime. For effective separation of phosphate mining tailings, Alfa Laval decanter centrifuges effectively separates solid materials from liquids in the slurry, thereby reducing solids to a dry cake for easy disposal.

The Alfa Laval Olmi product range consists of high-pressure equipment for urea
synthesis as well as waste heat recovery systems such as compact, lightweight waste heat recovery boilers and process gas coolers for the high-temperature and high-pressure applications required for fertilizer production. Our process gas coolers, for instance, can handle pressures up to 200 bar on the process side (140 bar on the steam side), and gas inlet temperatures of up to 1000°C.
